Process

Step 1:  Training

A local consultant from the network of NaturCert Representative Offices and subsidiaries, visits the company and trains the member of staff the company will appoint as Sustainability Officer. The objective of the training is to ensure adequate understanding of the certification process and requirements by the Sustainability Officer.

Step 2:  Implementation

Once the training is completed, the applicant company will need on average 3 months in order to take the necessary steps towards satisfying the minimum criteria requirements of the NaturCert Certification system. The local consultant in each country will provide the consultancy, guidance and support throughout the implementation period. At the end of the implementation, the consultant will submit the finalized certification folder to the applicant company containing all the documentation (proof of compliance) with the NaturCert Certification system requirements.

Step 3:  Auditing

The applicant company will select one third party certification body to perform the on-site audit of the applicant's premises for verifying the compliance of the applicant to the NaturCert Certification system requirements.

Step 4:  Certification awarding

If the on-site audit's outcome is positive certifying that the applicant company has fulfilled the necessary requirements, certification is awarded by NaturCert and the Certification Body.

Annual Certification Renewal

Every year the consultant will perform a thorough control over the client's proof of compliance and will update all necessary documentation. Additionally a short-length on-site audit by third party external auditors will take place, where compliance and progress will be checked in order for the certified company to renew its certification.

Periodical Monitoring

During the period between each Certification Renewal, the client has the obligation to submit on a quarterly basis information about its performance on a number of indexes through the online monitoring system provided by NaturCert.
