1. Is training included in the certification process?

Similar to all major international certifications schemes, any company seeking to become certified with NaturCert Certification must select a member of staff who will be responsible for coordinating all the client-related actions that need to be performed. That member of staff is called Sustainability Officer.

At the beginning of the NaturCert Certification Process, a local consultant from the network of NaturCert Representatives and subsidiaries, visits the company and trains the member of staff the company will appoint as Sustainability Officer.

The objective of the training is to ensure adequate understanding of the certification process and requirements by the Sustainability Officer.

2. Who certifies the travel & tourism companies?

NaturCert is the body which certifies the client ONLY if the client has been successfully audited by a third party NaturCert Accredited Auditor for verifying compliance to the NaturCert Certification system requirements.

3. How much is the auditing fee for NaturCert Certification?

Auditing fee: It is set by the third party Auditor.

4. Who provides the consulting service to the client?

The consulting service is provided and coordinated by the NaturCert Representative or subsidiary in the client’s territory.
Independent consultants may only operate under the coordination of the NaturCert Representative or subsidiary.

5. What is the cost of getting certified with NaturCert Certification?

The cost of getting certified for a travel & tourism company with NaturCert Certification is structured in the following way:

• NaturCert Certification license fee & Consulting fee:  They are calculated based on the level of annual turnover of the company. The company will be informed of the NaturCert Certification license fee & Consulting fee after submitting the Application for NaturCert Certification license.The cost will vary from country to country and is available at the NaturCert Certfication Cost page of every national site under www.naturcert.com
• Auditing fee: The NaturCert Accredited Auditors set their fees independently. The company will be informed of the Auditing fee after submitting the Application for NaturCert Certification license. The company is free to select any one of the Auditors to perform the on-site auditing.

6. Are there different benefits per type of company?

NaturCert and its international network of Representatives and subsidiaries promotes all certified companies regardless of their size or type. All the benefits offered by NaturCert Certification are designed to promote the green & sustainable certified travel & tourism companies.

NaturCert focuses on delivering benefits to certified companies based on the buyer-supplier relationship they have with their business partners. NaturCert ensures that certified travel & tourism companies are receiving the benefits relevant to their business activity role in the tourism industry.

Marketing benefit example: A certified hotel is promoted to related buyers of hotel nights.
On-demand benefits may be offered to specific certified companies tailored to their needs as an addition to the main benefits.
