Initiatives

At NaturCert, we believe environmentally and socially responsible practices of either public or private organizations represent an economic and social asset both for organizations and society.
The urge for environmental and social responsibility is a bottom-up process originating from individuals and societies who wish for a better world.
On one hand companies and private organizations offer their products and services and on the other hand individuals, through their economic activity, choose which of them to accept and consume or to reject based on various factors.
At NaturCert we strongly believe in that process and are grateful of individuals and organizations which take the lead and claim the right to a sustainable planet. We are next to them, collaborating on various initiatives or supporting them as best we can.

  • Seal the Deal Campaign

The UN-led Seal the Deal Campaign aims to galvanize political will and public support for reaching a comprehensive global climate agreement in Copenhagen in December. Climate change affects us all. Nine out of every ten disasters recorded are now climate related. Rising temperatures and more frequent floods, droughts and storms affect millions of people’s lives. This is set against a backdrop of financial and food insecurity.
On December 7, governments will gather in Copenhagen, Denmark to respond to one of the greatest challenges facing humanity. The main question will be how protect the planet and create a green economy that will lead to long-term prosperity.
We signed the petition! www.sealthedeal2009.org

  • Local Campaign

'Local Campaign' aims at creating a public platform for tourism companies wishing to support local environmental conservation as well as the local society & economy, through their purchasing policies, by giving the opportunity to local producers, manufacturers, artisants and suppliers to increase the competitiveness of their products and services. 'Local Campaign' is an ongoing initiative that aims to reach every corner of the world with a growing number of communities supporting the campaign.

NaturCert supports strongly the belief that certification for the environment and society as well as sustainable practices of companies, represent an economic and social asset both for travel & tourism companies and society.

  • 350.org

350.org is an international campaign dedicated to building a movement to unite the world around solutions to the climate crisis--the solutions that science and justice demand.

The mission of 350.org is to inspire the world to rise to the challenge of the climate crisis—to create a new sense of urgency and of possibility for our planet.

THe focus is on the number 350--as in parts per million, the level scientists have identified as the safe upper limit for CO2 in our atmosphere. But 350 is more than a number--it's a symbol of where we need to head as a planet.

  • World Climate Community

The World Climate Community is the idea of Mr. Klaus Bondam, Technical and Environmental Mayor of the City of Copenhagen. It has been developed together with Danish NGOs and organisations, private sponsors and other contributors.

In December 7th.-18th. Copenhagen will be the host city of the UNFCCC climate conference, COP15. Hopefully, their efforts will give us all a new, ambitious and strong climate agreement to replace the Kyoto Protocol from 1997. Last year’s COP14 in Poznan, Poland and COP13 in Bali in 2006 laid out the cornerstones for the Roadmap to Copenhagen.

At this year’s conference NGOs, grassroots and politicians will come together to fight climate change and debate issues such as; sustainable environment, reduction of CO2 emissions, legislation for pollution, protection of the rain forest, the ice caps, mitigation of the consequences of rising sea levels, extreme weather, deforestation, global warming and the green house effect!

The World Climate Community is open for any organisation or private individual from the World Wide Foundation (WFF), Greenpeace, ICLEI, UNEP, the UN and to the European Commission, Microsoft or citizens of New Delhi. The UN Climate Talks are extremely important and this online community is for all those concerned with sustainability in urban development as well as environmental policy towards agriculture and dealing responsibly with 3rd world countries’ industrialisation.
